Experience the Best Trophy Deer Hunting on Colorado's Eastern Plains

If you’re looking for the ultimate hunting experience, look no further than the Eastern Plains of Colorado. Our private ranches, spanning hundreds of thousands of acres, are home to some of the best trophy deer hunting available today. Our hunts are conducted in several units, featuring mostly private land with limited tag numbers, producing exceptional genetics. Comanche Wilderness Outfitters has operated on the Plains since 1997.

MULE DEER & WHITETAIL DEER

Trophy Deer Hunting on the Eastern Plains

Trophy deer hunting on the Eastern Plains has been widely publicized as some of the best deer hunting available today for good reason. Hunters usually see mule deer bucks scoring over 170″ B&C. Although the overall quality of bucks has slipped a bit in recent years due to winter storms, summer droughts, and an increase in licenses issued by the CPW, our hunters usually take two or three mule deer over 200″ B&C each year and two white tail deer over 150″ B&C.

Top-Notch Hunting Services on Our Private Ranches

Our hunts include a 2:1 hunter-to-guide ratio, comfortable lodging, meals, transportation during the hunt, recommendations on game processors and taxidermists, and caping of the trophy. Lodging is in comfortable ranch houses or B&Bs accompanied by delicious meals. Sack lunches are taken to the field.

LICENSES

Unlike the random drawings in some other states, Colorado uses a preference point system for drawing licenses in limited units. We can predict when you will receive a license. Rifle mule deer tags take 4 to 5 points to draw, whereas archery tags take 0 to 1 point. Units on the Eastern Plains are mostly private land and require fewer points than Western Colorado public land units, with hunting that’s as good, if not better. We also have some landowner tags available each year for archery mule deer and rifle white tail deer, speeding up the process.

Book Your Hunt Now

Due to the extremely high demand for trophy mule deer, we are currently booking archery mule deer two years in advance and rifle mule deer about four years in advance. Most hunters rebook before leaving camp.
