Trophy Pronghorn Bucks
If you’re looking for a trophy pronghorn buck, Colorado is one of the best places to hunt. Our private ranches and BLM permits offer some of the best quality in the state, with opportunities to harvest bucks scoring in the mid-70″ to mid-80″ B&C class. The largest buck ever taken by our client scored 84 5/8 B&C net and 87 6/8 B&C gross. This buck was 16 6/8″ long and had 7 2/8″ bases. The B&C All-time Record Book requires a score of 82 B&C and contains several entries from the areas we operate in and from our clients. Our hunters will have opportunities to harvest 14 – 16″ bucks.
Unit 6
We operate on large ranches in unit 6 as well as thousands of acres of BLM lands. This unit is near the town of Walden, Colorado in an area called North Park. North Park is a huge sagebrush valley surrounded on three sides by mountains. While the pronghorn population is strong, rifle licenses are very limited. The low number of licenses combined with the public BLM land means that the preference points required to draw rifle licenses are very high. In 2024, we predict that 20 preference points will be required to draw a rifle buck license. We take just four hunters per year and provide three days of guiding, lodging, meals, private and public land access, and trophy care. Buck quality is in the 78 – 83″ range. We’ve taken an 85″ buck here.
Units 16/17/171
Licenses are valid for all three of these units located near Walden, Colorado in North Park. We have several ranches and thousands of acres of BLM land in these units, and it takes about 15 preference points to draw a rifle buck license. This is a larger area, so several more licenses are issued here than in unit 6, but the licenses issued per square mile are about the same. We take four hunters per year and provide three days of guiding, lodging, meals, private and public land access, and trophy care. Expect bucks in the 78 – 83″ range. We’ve taken an 84 4/8″ buck here
Unit 93
Unit 93 is all private land so demand for licenses is lower, and only 3 points are required to draw a rifle buck license, though the quality of bucks is still good. Bigger bucks here will score 77 – 81″ with an occasional bigger buck. We take just two hunters per year to keep quality high. Three days of guiding, lodging, meals, private land access, and trophy care are provided.
Unit 105
Licenses take 3 points to draw, but we also have a steady supply of landowner tags available for just $500 each. Expect bucks in the 77 – 81″ range with an occasional larger buck. We have taken bucks scoring 82″ here. Three days of guiding, lodging, meals, private land access, and trophy care are provided. And a nice ranch house is located on site for lodging. We take up to four hunters each year.
Unit 9
This unit is all private land and takes just 1 preference point to draw, or you can purchase a landowner tag for $500. Expect bucks in the 73 – 78″ range with an occasional bigger buck. We hunt 14,000 acres and take just two hunters per year. We do not provide lodging, so hunters will stay in Wellington, CO at their own expense. We provide three days of guiding, private land access, trophy care, sack lunches, and drinks during the day.
The Quality Inn & Suites in Wellington provides a free continental breakfast and there are several restaurants available nearby for dinner. You will drive 15 minutes each morning to meet the guide in Livermore, CO and use his truck from there. This hunt is priced lower than our other pronghorn hunts since lodging and meals are not provided.
ARCHERY HUNTING
We can book archery hunts in some of the units listed above. Some units are drawn and others have over-the-counter licenses. Landowner vouchers are also available if arranged in advance by March. Archery hunters are provided with pre-set waterhole/tank blinds as well as the option to bring their own blinds.

Archery Hunting
Our areas require a draw for licenses, but we also get landowner licenses for elk, deer, and pronghorn annually. Plus, we hold a BLM permit in the North Park area of North Central Colorado for moose and pronghorn. Bordering the unhunted, 265,000-acre Rocky Mountain National Park, our wilderness elk, bighorn sheep, mountain goat, and mountain lion hunting grounds are truly one-of-a-kind.
